2015 marked the 1400th anniversary of St Columbus’s death. There are many people who would revel in the opportunity to go to Bobbio, Italy where the saint is buried. But I put it to you, who would want to go to Italy, when they can go to Fermanagh? This tour provides those people interested in the life of Columbanus an opportunity to go on pilgrimage to Cleenish, Co Fermanagh, where the saint studied under St Snell. The tour will conclude in Bangor Abbey, Co Down, where St Columbanus along with St Gall, studied under St Comgall in the historic abbey at Bangor. Visit the ruins of Bangor Abbey and stand in the location where Columbanus and Gall set out for the European continent.
Starting from Belfast, the tour will go to Cleenish, Co Fermanagh, then Bangor, before returning to Belfast.
